The fact that Super Bowl 53 takes place in their home stadium gives even more reason to think Dan Quinn’s team will be motivated. However, it’s not just destiny that will get them there. It is no surprise that Kyle Shanahan’s departure to coach the 49ers had an effect on the offense. The production took a dip under new offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian. However, that was expected given the transitional period. Even then, the Falcons still were an above average offense the entire season. Sarkisian now has a year of experience under his belt as he and the coaching staff will work out the kinks. Many of the offensive weapons return next season while free agency and the draft present the opportunity to add even more.

Don’t let the 2017 season fool you, teams still need a good quarterback to reach the Super Bowl. Even Case Keenum and Blake Bortles have performed well in the postseason. The Atlanta Falcons can rest easy knowing they have a former MVP under center. Matt Ryan is the ultimate key to the Falcons’ Super Bowl chances. He’ll be helped by a strong running game but it’s his arm that will lead the Dirty Birds to the big game next season.

Despite the 28-3 jokes, the Falcons shouldn’t be taken lightly next season. They almost made it to the ship last year and have a very good chance at creating some more history. Quarterback Matt Ryan will once again be at the helm, as expect Julio Jones to get more involved in the offense as he only totaled two receiving touchdowns the year before.
